Ten Signs of Fad Diets
Who does not want to lose weight easy and fast? I am guilty of trying to eliminate fats by starving myself because that’s the only way I know how, rather I sometimes refuse to do it the right way for a number of reasons. I know weight loss entails hard work and discipline but you know how a stubborn mind works sometimes, eh? But I am proud to say that I never resort to fad diets. How do you know that a program is just a fad? Here are the signs:
Promises a large or fast weight loss (more than one to two pounds per week) Does not include suggestions to consult with your doctor or a registered dietitian Encourages you to eliminate food groups (such as grains) or eat from a limited selection of foods Offers rigid menus that don’t consider your likes, dislikes and lifestyles Neglects active living or lifestyle changes Provides far fewer calories than what is needed for an energized, healthy lifestyle Contradicts what most trusted health professionals say Depends on special products, supplements or treatments Has miraculous claims Relies on testimonials and anecdotes rather than scientific evidence
Watch out for these signs and never be a victim of false advertising!
